Parquetry Floors
Parquetry floors are made from solid timber cut into blocks. It is installed in various patterns to give a classic & timeless look. Parquetry comes in many species on timber from European Oak to Australian Hardwood. See timber species. Parquetry requires maintenance every 7-15 years however a well looked after floor will last longer than a lifetime. See sanding and polishing. Parquetry also comes in engineered timber.
Solid Timber Floors
Solid timber floors can have a big impact on the look and feel of your home. There are many options available from Australian Hardwood to European Oak. Lighter timber floors are a neutral option. Timbers such as Blackbutt, Brushbox, Tasmanian Oak or European Oak. Darker floors like Jarrah or Sydney Blue Gum make an impact in any room. Solid timber floors like parquetry when maintained will last a lifetime. See timber species for more information.
Engineered & floating floors
Floating timber floors are primarily referred to as Engineered timber floors. Engineered flooring has become the affordable “go to” timber floor. They are unique in their construction, being 100% timber on top. The thickness of this solid timber varies. Engineered timber is manufactured with a unique locking system. This fits together to ensure that your floor will be a beautiful part of your home for many years to come. Most engineered floors can be sanded and polished to maintain a floor lasting between 25 & 50 years.
