Parquetry Flooring Company offer a wide variety of Australian and European timbers to suit all preferences. We have different species on display at our showroom in Beulah Park.
When it comes to choosing flooring we think about a nice feel underfoot and environmental friendliness, it is hard to go past timber flooring. Solid timber floors can have a big impact on the look and feel of your home, so choosing to install hardwood floors is the easy part, there are many options available from Australian Hardwood to European Oak. Lighter floors are a good neutral option. Timbers such as Blackbutt, Brushbox, Tasmanian Oak or European oak are always crowd-pleasers. Darker floors always make a strong impact on the look of a room. Additionally, Timbers like Jarrah, Sydney Bluegum or Spotted Gum can be the feature of your home.
The finish you choose is also important when deciding what look to go for.

Our Most Common Timbers
Blackbutt
Blackbutt is one of the highest value timbers and is predominantly grown in the north coast of New South Wales. It is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry, and engineered timber. Blackbutt is a hardwood that is very popular in new homes due to its lighter shades.

Brushbox
Brushbox is beautiful and sought after timber for both floorboards and parquetry. It has a rich colour of brown with tinges of pink and red. Brush box is a medium to large-sized Australian hardwood that grows in the central coast of New South Wales to Bowen in Queensland. Brushbox is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry, and engineered/floating floors.

European Oak
European Oak is a medium-sized hardwood found in Central and Western Europe. It is a pale timber with traces of brown and yellow throughout. Its unique characteristics make Oak a very popular flooring choice. European Oak is available in solid timber boards, parquetry (including Marie Antoinette & Versailles), and also in engineered floorboards.

Grey Ironbark offers a large variety of colour from nutty honey, some dark reddish-brown to dark chocolate. This timber has a tight grain pattern and is one of the hardest hardwood floorings available. It is extremely hard wearing and is perfect for high traffic areas in both commercial and domestic situations. Grey Ironbark is a large tree that grows along the coast of New South Wales and Southern Queensland.

Jarrah
Jarrah is a unique Australian hardwood making it ideal for timber flooring options. These trees grow in the nutrient-rich soil of the southwestern corner of Western Australia. Jarrah is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry and engineered timber plank flooring.

Spotted Gum
Spotted Gum is the common name for four species being native to the east coast of Australia. It is a premium hardwood with a striking appearance with colours ranging from light brown to dark brown, with many subtle colours including grey and green. Spotted Gum is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry and engineered timber plank flooring.

Sydney Blue Gum
Sydney Blue Gum is a large Australian hardwood species. It is native to New South Wales and southern Queensland. The colours range from dark pink to reddish-brown. Sydney Bluegum is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry, and engineered timber plank flooring.

Tasmanian Oak
Tasmanian Oak is an Australian hardwood that is a collective name for three almost identical species that grow in the mountainous regions of Tasmania. It is a warm, dense, and resilient timber making is ideal for flooring. Tasmanian Oak is light with varying shades from straw to a reddish-brown. It can also vary from cream to pink. Tasmanian Oak is available in solid timber floorboards, parquetry, and engineered timber plank flooring.

Timber Floor Hardness
The hardness of timber is not directly related to how hard the timber is also associates with the coating you choose. The hardness figures most commonly used are those obtained from the Janka test.
